CELEBRATIONS FOR UNBI’S 11TH ANNIVERSARY: PROMOTING “NEW VISION, DRIVING PROGRESS” THROUGH EVENTS RANGING FROM A FUN WALK TO THE UNBIPRENEUR EXPO 2026

DENPASAR – Bali International University (UNBI) officially kicked off its 11th anniversary celebration series, which runs from late September through its grand finale on October 10, 2026. Under the theme "New Initiatives, Moving Forward!", the festivities were in full swing on Thursday (October 8, 2026), featuring a mix of sports, community service, entertainment, and student creativity events.

This year’s 11th anniversary celebration series is quite packed and diverse. It began on September 21 with a book discussion, followed by a National Seminar on “Healthy Campus” on October 2, and the Student Sports and Arts Week (Porsenima) from October 4–7, featuring competitions in futsal, badminton, digital poster design, e-sports, poetry, and solo pop singing.

The atmosphere grew even livelier on Thursday, (October 8, 2026), starting early in the morning at 7:33 a.m. WITA with a leisurely walk, followed by a “Poco-Poco” senior exercise session in collaboration with Astra, which was attended by faculty members, staff, and participants of the funwalk. The event kicked off with an official opening by the UNBI Rector, Prof. Dr. dr. I Made Bakta, Sp.PD-KHOM, as well as remarks from the Head of Tonja Village.

This year’s UNBI Funwalk was even more lively with the participation of student and teacher representatives from high schools and vocational schools across Bali, including SMAN 2 Denpasar, SMAN 3 Denpasar, SMAN 9 Denpasar, SMA Bali Dewata, and SMK Kesehatan PGRI. In addition to a leisurely walk, participants were also offered free health checkups as a form of community service from the university, which houses the Faculty of Health Sciences, the Faculty of Business, Social Sciences, Technology, and Humanities, and the Faculty of Medicine.

In the southern part of the campus, there were booths for the UNBIpreneur Expo 2026, staffed by faculty members, student associations, and student organizations. The booths at this event are divided into two categories: main meals and snacks. Some of the groups in the main meals category include the Music Club, the Mapala Club, the Pharmacy Student Association, the Persma Club, the Christian Student Family Club, the Badminton Club, the KSR-PMI Club, and the KRS Student Group for AIDS Awareness. Meanwhile, some of the groups in the light snacks category included the Medical Electrical Engineering Student Association (TEM), the Student Representative Council (DPM), the Psychology Student Association, the Computer Science Student Association, the Campus Boys and Girls Club (PPK), the Hospital Administration Student Association, the Medical Laboratory Technology (TLM) D4 Student Association, the Digital Business Student Association, the Occupational Safety and Health (K3) Student Association, the Student Executive Board (BEM), and the Business Administration Student Association. In addition to booths run by faculty members, student associations, and student organizations, there were also booths set up by Extrajoss and Baliku Jamur. The expo area also featured a photo booth to capture moments of togetherness.

The excitement continued with the drawing for door prizes and an interactive quiz about UNBI at 8:22 a.m. WITA. The participants erupted in cheers as the moderator called out the raffle numbers on stage. After a break filled with a mesmerizing performance by the Dance Club at 8:46 a.m. WITA, the event continued with a Campus Tour for the invited guests.

The entertainment stage heated up with acoustic performances by the Music Club and the Choir. A lineup of hit songs was performed beautifully, ranging from "Imagination" (Shawn Mendes) and "Sempurna" (Andra and The Backbone) to "Wonderwall" and "Supernova" (Oasis), before closing with an energetic stage performance by the Music Club’s rap division.

One of the most memorable moments was the joint birthday celebration with the entire UNBI academic community, along with students celebrating birthdays in August, September, and October. The event then continued with the presentation of commemorative gifts and a group photo session with representatives from the high schools and vocational schools in attendance.

The drawing for the door prizes in the final round, led directly by First Vice Rector Prof. Dr. I Komang Gde Bendesa, M.A.D.E., brought the day’s festivities to a close. The series of events for UNBI’s 11th Anniversary will continue until its climax on October 10, 2026, featuring an Open Senate Session—now comprising 27 senate members—a Scientific Address, and the Awarding of UNBI’s academic community.
