UNBI’s 2026 Pre-PKKMB Program Equips 331 New Students with an Introduction to Campus Life

Denpasar, August 21, 2026 – A total of 331 new students participated in the Pre-Orientation Program for New Students (Pra-PKKMB) at Bali International University (UNBI) on Friday (August 21, 2026). This activity was part of the initial series of the 2026 PKKMB, which carried the theme “Akarsa: Rooted in Culture, Growing Toward Hope.”

The event began around 7:00 a.m. WITA, with the new students gathering on the field in groups with their respective facilitators. Before the event began, the organizing committee took attendance, checked participants’ attire and supplies, and provided special wristbands to students who were ill.

Health considerations were also a priority during the Pre-PKKMB event. The organizing committee prepared a medical team that remained on standby throughout the event to assist new students requiring medical attention. The medical team was stationed at the back of the formation and was ready to handle various health conditions that might arise during the series of activities.

After the initial preparations, the new students participated in a series of orientation and team-building activities on the field. The program included an introduction to the UNBI PKKMB slogans and UNBI slogans, followed by each group presenting their own slogans. The new students also joined in singing the UNBI Pelita jingle together with the facilitators and organizing committee.

The activities then continued with a communal gathering. The new students reconvened with their respective groups to pray and share a meal together. This moment was part of a series of activities embodying the theme “Akarsa: Rooted in Culture, Growing Toward Hope.”

After the shared meal, the new students participated in a cleanup activity around the campus. Afterward, each group practiced cheering chants under the guidance of a facilitator. This series of outdoor activities was part of the process of building camaraderie among the new students before they attended the orientation session in the auditorium.

Moving on to the program in the auditorium, the event began with an opening ceremony, the singing of the national anthem “Indonesia Raya” and the UNBI Hymn, as well as a joint prayer. UNBI’s Vice Rector II, Dr. I Gusti Lanang Made Rudiartha, MHA, then delivered a speech and extended a warm welcome to the new students.

The new students were then introduced to the environment of Bali International University through a video presentation of UNBI’s company profile. The orientation continued with information sessions on various aspects related to student life at the university.

In the area of student affairs, the new students were introduced to organizations within the university, namely the Student Executive Board (BEM), the Student Representative Council (DPM), and the Student Activities Board. In addition, new students also received information about their major’s student association and various Student Activity Units (UKM), such as Mapala, the Student Press, Music, Dance, and Esports.

The orientation also covers academic matters, information technology, the digital library, and financial matters. These materials provide an introduction to aspects that will support students throughout their academic life at UNBI.

In addition to focusing on academic and student life aspects, the Pre-PKKMB also provided orientation on safety and preparedness. New students received information on preventing sexual violence, disaster response from the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), and materials from Densus 88.

The 2026 Pre-PKKMB series, coordinated by Executive Chair Katong Ragawi Numadi, M.Hub.Int. served as an initial step for new students to familiarize themselves with the UNBI campus environment, understand various facilities and student organizations, and receive orientation on academic life and campus safety.

Through this series of activities, the Pre-PKKMB serves not only as an orientation program prior to the PKKMB but also as an initial opportunity for incoming students to build camaraderie, familiarize themselves with campus culture, and prepare for university life.
