ADBISPRENEUR 2026 HOSTS A SEMINAR ON FINANCIAL LITERACY AND INVESTING FOR PARTICIPANTS

DENPASAR The Business Administration Program at Bali International University (UNBI) hosted a series of events titled Adbispreneur 2026 on Tuesday, August 18, 2026. The series of events included the Financial Literacy and Investment Seminar as well as the announcement of the winners of the 2026 Business Plan Competition.

The Financial Literacy and Investment Seminar was one of the main events in Adbispreneur 2026. The event was supported by the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) and PT Phillip Sekuritas Indonesia as part of an effort to provide participants with an understanding of investing, the capital market, and various financial instruments.

The event was hosted by Dewa Ayu and attended by faculty members from the UNBI Faculty of Business, Social Sciences, Technology, and Humanities (FBSTH). The event was opened by the Dean of UNBI’s FBSTH, Ni Made Sintya Noviana Utami, S.Psi., M.Psi., Psychologist, who in her remarks explained the early history of UNBI’s establishment, the development of its academic programs, and the importance of financial literacy activities for the participants.

The Coordinator of the Business Administration Program at UNBI, Dewa Gde Yoga Permana, S.E., M.M., was also present at the event. On that occasion, he presented certificates to the judges involved in the Adbispreneur 2026 series of events: Ms. Triwerti, Ms. Gita Apsari, and Mr. Komang.

Moving on to the main event, participants took part in a presentation and discussion session moderated by Ms. Gita Apsari. Two speakers were present to discuss investment and the capital market from different perspectives: I Gusti Agus Andiyasa, S.E., M.M., CFP, CIB, CSA, and A.A. Sagung Istri Pradnya Paramitha, S.E.

Mr. Agus Andiyasa opened the presentation by emphasizing that investing isn’t always about money. In his view, education and personal development are also forms of investment in the future. He then explained the two general types of investment: direct and indirect. Direct investment can be made by establishing or running a business, while indirect investment can be made through various investment instruments, including the capital market.

In his presentation on investing in the Indonesian capital market, Mr. Agus Andiyasa explained the function of the capital market as a platform that brings together companies in need of capital and individuals seeking investment opportunities. “Investment is always correlated with time—the longer, the better. Never put it off,” said Mr. Agus.

The next session was presented by A.A. Sagung Istri Pradnya Paramitha, S.E., as a representative of PT Phillip Sekuritas Indonesia. Through a presentation titled It’s Time to Let Your Money Work for You, Ms. Pradnya helped participants understand the various factors that can influence price movements of investment instruments in the capital market. She explained that various events and information—whether positive or negative—can influence market conditions. “When we enter the stock market, all news—whether good or bad—will affect stock prices,” said Ms. Pradnya.

In addition to discussing the impact of economic conditions on the market, Ms. Pradnya also emphasized the importance of identifying one’s risk profile before selecting investment instruments. Risk profiles can generally be categorized as conservative, moderate, and aggressive.

Participants were also introduced to a number of investment instruments, such as mutual funds, bonds, and stocks. Ms. Pradnya explained several types of mutual funds: money market funds, fixed-income funds, balanced funds, and equity funds. She also discussed bonds as debt securities issued by the government or companies, and introduced the concepts of stocks, dividends, and investing as a source of passive income.

After two sessions of material presentation, the event continued with a discussion session. Participants were given the opportunity to ask questions related to the material presented, with three participants having the chance to ask questions.

This year’s Adbispreneur event hosted a Financial Literacy and Investment Seminar linked to the Business Plan Competition. A total of 30 teams registered for the competition, and eight teams successfully passed the selection stage to advance to the finals. However, the event was not solely focused on developing business ideas but also encouraged participants to take the initiative to start and develop their ideas through simple steps.

Through the Adbispreneur 2026 series of events, the UNBI Business Administration Program not only provided a competitive platform for participants to develop business ideas but also fostered an understanding of the importance of financial literacy and investment in supporting financial decision-making.
